Welcome to the Seven Day Stitch project!

My name is Amy, and this is my attempt at channeling a growing addiction to knitting/crochet/sewing into something useful!

The Objective: To complete a hand knitted/crocheted/sewn item once per week, or every 7 days. 

The Outcome: To have a stack of beautiful hand made things to donate to various charities around New Zealand. 

A bit of Info:

In New Zealand over 305,000 children live in hardship (without the basics), and require warmer clothing to get them through the colder months.

Also, approximately 4,600 babies are born prematurely in New Zealand every year, and hospitals struggle to source appropriately sized clothing for them, sometimes resorting to wrapping the babies in anything they can find to send them home.  

There are some amazing charities that have been set up for these purposes, and while they receive a ton of support already from thousands of generous crafters around the country, I hope that something that I have taken the time to make, will make a difference to someone this year.
